Which vitamin D stores does AI shopping recommend?
When you ask an AI assistant to help you buy vitamin D, it can pull products from Shopify's global catalog. Which ones come up first? We ran the searches a real shopper would type, in four countries, and counted who shows up and how high.
The podium
🥇 1st: blackgirlvitamins.co (223 points)
Best product: Vitamin D3 Sugar Free gummies. Showed up in 29 searches across all 4 countries and was the #1 result 13 times. Three of its products made the results.
🥈 2nd: nutritiongeeks.co (174 points)
Best product: Vitamin D3 4000 IU + K2. The #1 result 11 times. Four different vitamin D products showed up, which earned it places in more searches.
🥉 3rd: gb.healf.com (145 points)
Best product: Liquid Vegan D3 spray. Never took 1st place, but showed up more often than anyone: in 33 searches, with 10 different vitamin D products.

What we learned
- A clear product page wins. The winner's name says exactly what it is: "Vitamin D3 Sugar Free". It matched "vitamin D", "vitamin D3", "vitamin D gummies", "vegan vitamin D3" and "vitamin D supplement".
- A range wins more places. The top 3 stores all had several vitamin D products in the results. Each strength or format is another chance to be picked for a different search.
- Reviews count. The best products of the top stores are rated 4.6 or higher, most with hundreds or thousands of reviews.
- Retailers can beat brands. Healf, Natural Health Co., Organic Bargains and Supplement First sell other brands' vitamin D and still made the top 10.
- Most of the winners are small brands. Of the 259 vitamin D products we saw, the top spots went mostly to independent Shopify brands, not household names.
How we tested
- Where: Shopify's global product catalog, which Shopify offers to AI shopping assistants to find products across Shopify stores.
- Countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia.
- Searches (15 per country, 60 in total): vitamin D · vitamin D3 · vitamin D supplement · best vitamin D supplement · vitamin D3 K2 · vitamin D3 5000 IU · vitamin D3 1000 IU · vitamin D gummies · vitamin D drops · vitamin D spray · vegan vitamin D3 · vitamin D for kids · vitamin D3 softgels · liquid vitamin D3 · vitamin D and magnesium
- Scoring: in every search, each store earns points for its highest-placed vitamin D product: 10 for 1st, 9 for 2nd, and so on, with at least 1 point for appearing at all. Points are added up across all 60 searches. Ties go to the store seen in more countries. Bundles and products that aren't vitamin D are left out.
- Date: run on October 16, 2026. Results change daily.
