Where does AI shopping send you for a quality yoga mat?
Ask an AI assistant where to buy a good yoga mat, and it can pull products from Shopify's global catalog. Which stores come up first? We ran 60 searches a real shopper would type, in four countries, and counted which stores show up and how high.
The podium
🥇 1st: Liforme (431 points)
liforme.com · Classic Yoga Mat, $165 · rated 4.8 from 1,306 reviews. Liforme showed up in 47 of the 60 searches and was the #1 result in 28 of them. It was the top store in all four countries. It was #1 for "non slip yoga mat", "eco friendly yoga mat", "travel yoga mat" and "yoga mat for beginners" in every country. The only searches it missed were "cork yoga mat", "thick yoga mat" and "yoga mat for hot yoga".
🥈 2nd: Scoria (243 points)
scoria.ca and scoriaworld.com · Botanicals Cork Yoga Mat 4.5mm, C$135 (about $97) · rated 4.8 from 198 reviews. A cork mat brand that showed up in 43 searches across all four countries. It was the #1 result for "cork yoga mat" in three countries. Scoria runs two stores, a Canadian one and a global one, which we counted as one.
🥉 3rd: Yogamatters (189 points)
yogamatters.com · Sticky Yoga Mat, $52 · rated 4.9 from 74 reviews. Yogamatters was never the #1 result, but it showed up in 34 searches and placed in the top 3 in 13 of them. It sells its own mats and other brands such as Manduka. Its Sticky mat is the cheapest in the top 10.

Manduka was the #1 result 12 times, more than anyone except Liforme, but it showed up in only 26 searches. JadeYoga only showed up in US searches, yet it came 2nd in the US, one point behind Liforme. AnthroEvolve, an eco goods retailer, sells the same Aura Cork mat as Yoloha.

What we learned
- One store owns the generic searches. Liforme was #1 in 28 of 60 searches. Shoppers asking for "non slip", "eco friendly", "travel" or "for beginners" all ended up at the same store. When one brand's pages match that many needs, the AI keeps picking it.
- Specific searches have their own winners. Scoria won "cork yoga mat" and Valka Yoga won "premium yoga mat" in three of four countries each. Manduka won "yoga mat for hot yoga" in two of the four countries. A smaller brand can't beat Liforme on "yoga mat", but it can own a material or a need.
- Brands beat retailers. Eight of the top 10 are brands selling their own mats. The only two retailers that sell other brands, Yogamatters and AnthroEvolve, placed 3rd and 8th.
- Not every result is a yoga mat. For "cushioned yoga mat for bad knees", the #1 result in three countries was a support pad you put on top of a mat, and knee pads showed up too. We left those out of the ranking. A mat that really suits sore knees should say so in its title and description.
- Quality search, quality prices. The average top-10 mat costs $105, and every one is rated 4.5 or higher.
- Most stores barely show up. We saw 79 stores. 44 of them matched only one of the 15 searches, and 41 showed up in only one country.
How we tested
- Where: Shopify's global product catalog, which Shopify offers to AI shopping assistants to find products across Shopify stores.
- Countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia.
- Searches (15 per country, 60 in total): yoga mat · best yoga mat · high quality yoga mat · non slip yoga mat · thick yoga mat · eco friendly yoga mat · natural rubber yoga mat · cork yoga mat · travel yoga mat · extra long yoga mat · yoga mat for hot yoga · yoga mat for beginners · premium yoga mat · cushioned yoga mat for bad knees · where to buy a good yoga mat
- Scoring: in every search, each store earns points for its best-placed mat: 10 for 1st place, 9 for 2nd, and so on, with at least 1 point for appearing at all. A store counts once per search. Points are added up across all 60 searches. A brand's own regional stores count as one store (Liforme, Scoria, Manduka). Ties go to the store seen in more countries. Knee pads, support pads and multipacks are left out.
- Prices: each store's most-shown mat, converted to US dollars.
- Date: run on October 21, 2026. Results change daily.
This ranks how visible stores are in AI shopping search, not how good their mats are. We have no relationship with any store listed.
